The Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC) is an independent research institution. It was founded in 2001 in Yerevan, Armenia, by a group of enthusiasts believing in the role of independent research in social advancement.
Our mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and to provide innovative, practical policy recommendations for advancing Armenia’s development agenda.
The Center’s activities can be grouped in four broad themes: a) human development and social policies; b) growth structural transformation and business development; c) infrastructure and knowledge-based economy; and c) economic governance and institutional reforms. The heart of the Center is its dedicated team. The Center has mobilized intellectual resources to generate ideas through self-discovery and debates. People who work for EDRC are from diverse background, but they all have one thing in common- they all see their professional growth through working toward Armenia’s development.
The Center has a vast network of friends, supporters, partners and beneficiaries. EDRC is a member of the Civil Society Cooperation Network created by 35 NGOs in Armenia. We are also a member of the Civil Network formed by 147 NGOs and we coordinate its Finance, Credit and Budget Commission since 2011.
EDRC would not have been able to operate successfully and have an impact without the support of its partners. Project based financing has been the main modality for resource mobilization.
