MISSION & VALUES

The Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC) is a Yerevan (Armenia) based nonpartisan, independent policy research organization – think tank. It was founded in 2001 by a group of enthusiasts believing in the role of independent research in social advancement.

We believe that the fundamentals of developed and competitive society should lie in democracy and human rights, limited but functional and accountable government, strong incentives for all to invest and grow, social cohesion and strong communities. EDRC believes in freedom and works to strengthen public and private institutions by providing with analytical recourses, advice and solutions to enhance policy dialogue and to promote better policies.

We gather and analyze data, conduct research and policy assessments, monitor and evaluate public programs, draw recommendations and provide policy advice, conduct capacity building measures for advancing national development agenda.

Our focus is on Armenia but also on partner and neighboring countries, covering a broad spectrum of development policies, ranging from national long term development strategies to sector policy programs.

Throughout the years, we have built a strong track record of successfully implemented projects that involved close collaboration with various national and international institutions.

EDRC has traditionally cooperated with governmental agencies and institutions, and with various representatives of local and international academic and research society.

EDRC also actively participates in civil society efforts aimed at advocating “good governance” and evidence-based policy development.

EDRC also supports students, young scholars and civil society institutions by providing resources and tools for public policy analysis, participation and advocacy.

A special approach to human resources and pursuing of a quality management policy, giving high priority to the clients’/partners’ interests and ensuring the beneficiaries’ needs to the highest possible extent are decisive factors to our success.
