The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is supporting the Government of Armenia in introduction and development of Programme Budgeting in the Republic of Armenia. Тhe current technical assistance particularly covers the scope of (focuses on the implementation of the activities under) the “Strategy on Full-fledged Introduction of Programme Budgeting in the Republic of Armenia”.

Since January 2018, the implementation of “Assistance to the Ministry of Finance in further implementation of activities under “Strategy on Full-fledged Introduction of Programme Budgeting in the Republic of Armenia”  –  Review of Budget Programmes”, the massive consultancy project, was launched.

The objective of the assignment is to support the Ministry of Finance of Armenia and other line Ministries in further improvement of the program related information in budget documents, to review and update the structure, as well as the content of the budget programmes in accordance to the requirements of the new methodology.

Since November 2018, the EDRC is implementing “Assistance to the Ministry of Finance in further implementation of activities under “Strategy on Full-fledged Introduction of Programme Budgeting in the Republic of Armenia” – Development of Comprehensive Training Programme, Conduction of General (Theoretical) and Practical (On-Job) Trainings” project. Within the project, all government bodies continue to receive  advisory support on the introduction of the new model of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the annual budgetary process. The scope of the assignment includes capacity building for the government officials responsible for the budgetary process, members of the National Assembly, as well as the high-level government officials on the application of the PB methodology, as well as the requirements and problems of the current stage of the PB introduction.
