International Workshop, June 2010, Yerevan
Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC), with the World Bank and Government of Armenia, organized an International Workshop on the “Economic and Social Impact of Migration, Remittances, and Diaspora” in Best Western Congress Hotel. The main purpose of the Workshop was to share the existent knowledge and best practices on how various CIS countries have dealt with the economic and social impact of migration, and to facilitate a discussion on the role of migration, remittances, and Diasporas on development.
Representatives from World Bank and other international organizations (IMF, IOM, ILO, GTZ, OSCE), policy practitioners from Armenia, Russia, Moldova, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, as well as academics and think tanks working in these areas, and representatives from the Government of Armenia participated in the Workshop.
